VOK 3: Sam Boo Exclusive
AddictedMMA: Hi Sam, you're fighting Brad Thomas this Sunday at VOK 3. First of all how long have you been fighting and where did it all start for you?
Sam: I turned pro in June 2011. I have always liked MMA and I took part in my first interclub and won two fights in under a minute and from there I was hooked!
AddictedMMA: How has training gone for this fight?
Sam: Training is going really well, I feel super fit and ready to go!
AddictedMMA: You and your opponent Brad Thomas rarely go past the first round; can we expect to see fireworks on Sunday?
Sam: Yeah it should be a great fight I can't wait now!
AddictedMMA: I see that this will be your sixth fight of the year already!! Are you mad or do you just love fighting?
Sam: No this will be number seven!! I fought David Rental on Fusion and won in the first round!
Yeah I do like to fight and I take a lot of last minute fights, I will have two more this year and then I will take some time out; maybe a year or two unless I'm offered a good fight.
AddictedMMA: What weight do you walk around at? And do you find it difficult cutting down to the 84kg weight limit?
Sam: I walk around at 88kg. I don't find it hard cutting weight to be honest; I just skip a meal or two!
AddictedMMA: Have you set yourself any goals that you'd like to achieve in your MMA career?
Sam: I don't really have any goals in MMA; I just like to fight and test what I have learned in the gym.
AddictedMMA: If Dana rang you now and said you could be on the UK card and asked you to pick your opponent in any weight class. Who would you chose and why?
Sam: I don't know it's hard to say but anyone. It would just be great to fight on any UFC card.
AddictedMMA: Do you watch the UFC events? Do you have any favourite fighters or fights that you have seen?
Sam: Yes I do love the UFC! I enjoy watching the UK's Dan hardy and I do like Rory MacDonald as well.
AddictedMMA: Do you have any shout outs or mentions to anybody?
Sam: I would like to thank my wife for all the sh*t she puts up with and my team at the house of pain.
AddictedMMA: Now it's time for our signature question. Outside of MMA what are you Addicted to?
Sam: Red Bull. I just have to have it!
