UIC 8: Kevin Hutchinson "I’ll Be Ready For War"
AddictedMMA: Hi Kevin, thanks for giving up your time for us today. You're fighting Sam Mensah at UIC 8 next Saturday, how are your preparations going for the bout?
Kevin: It's been bit of slow week from the last fight as I have been ill, but this week with being busy at work and trying to get training in I'll be ready for war come Saturday night.
AddictedMMA: I recently interviewed Sam and a war of words erupted on Facebook over it. Was that purely to hype the fight or did you mean all that was said in the thread? There were an awful lot of threats and promises made between the pair of you!
Kevin: At end of day this is MMA if he big enough to tell me how he going to try and beat me let's hope he can back it up. I'll back all my words up, let's just hope he has trained hard for this as it's going to be epic once that fight starts.
AddictedMMA: Was there anything in the interview that Sam said to particularly rile you so much?
Kevin: No Sam seems to have lot of people to back what he likes to say but I watched his last fight and to be honest I don't think he can, or will back anything up that he has talked about.
AddictedMMA: You've stepped up to the plate for this fight after Sam's original opponent had to pull out. What made you take the fight on fairly short notice?
Kevin: I will take any fight really to be honest its getting more experience in the cage that I want so if the opportunity to fight arises then I will take it.
AddictedMMA: You're coming into Sam's patch for this one. Does the thought of defeating Sam and silencing the arena spur you on to get the "W" even more?
Kevin: I can't wait for it. Yeah he might be good but out of all those people that were backing him on Facebook do any of them know me?? No!! So when I put him to sleep and show him up in front of his home crowd then I'll be a happy man.
AddictedMMA: UIC 8 is stacked with some insanely good looking fights which is a testament to Paul Sutherland's matchmaking abilities. Apart from your own which fight are you looking forward to the most?
Kevin: Lee Caers vs. Ben Constantine. I can't wait for this, both are great fighters and I think it will be the best fight of the night.
