Simeon Thoresen to face Wendle Lewis at UWC 23

Saturday 13th July 2013 will see UFC veteran Simeon "The Grin" Thoresen make a return to Ultimate Warrior Challenge in an attempt to reclaim the belt he vacated in April last year, he will be taking on the talented, London based fighter Wendle Lewis (pic.) in what will be a true clash of styles.

Submission expert Thoresen (17-4-1) will be looking to return to winning ways after his release from the UFC. He entered the promotion last April with a submission win over Besam Yousef at UFC on FUEL TV 2 in Sweden. Disappointing back-to-back losses against Seth Baczynski (KO) and David Mitchell (Decision) followed that victory which saw his first stint with the Las Vegas based promotion come to an early end.

Thoresen will be looking to make it eight wins out of eight under the UWC banner at UWC 23 against Lewis and reclaim the title once again.

The Team Titan trained Wendle Lewis (6-1) will head into UWC 23 looking to win his first major title. Lewis earnt the title shot having defeated Kester Mumba at UWC 21 last October in impressive fashion.

Looking forward to the bout UWC matchmaker Alex Burzotta told me;

"This will be a bout not to be missed. Simeon has never been defeated at UWC and is looking to make a stamp once again in the welterweight division. Wendle is coming off an impressive win at UWC and trains with some of the best fighters in Europe, a true clash of striker v grappler."
