AddictedMMA: Thanks for taking the time to talk with us. How does it feel to be AddictedMMA's Ring Girl of the Month?
Absolutely amazing! I've been a ring/cage girl for under a year after trying to get into the game for ages and I seem to be going from strength to strength. So thank you for choosing me as ring girl of the month, I'm feeling very honoured.
AddictedMMA: You recently won the Ultimate Impact Cagefighting Ring Girl Competition. Could you believe it when your name was called out?
I was genuinely shocked, I couldn't believe it, I've taken part in a fair few competitions and never won anything so wasn't expecting to win. This was actually my last competition that I would be taking part in so what a way to go out!
AddictedMMA: Whenever I've seen you do your Ring Girl duties you're always smiling and interacting with fans and fighters. Do you feel that gave you the edge in the competition?
I think so, I love MMA and I'm so passionate about the sport and being a cage girl, I live, eat and breathe MMA when I'm at an event so I'm so happy that came across and the judges chose me. I sometimes think I'm more pumped then the fighters about getting into the cage!!
AddictedMMA: That whole evening was fantastic, from start to finish the fights were electric! What fights did you enjoy the most?
Massive highlight was watching the explosive fight where we saw Ryan Marshall take Ryan Dunne down to Chinatown!! I have never seen a crowd get behind a fight like that. The energy was electric and I live for that at a show. When Marshall took the win the fans went wild & all of us cageside were covered in drinks!
Fight of the night had to be Bruno Marques & Anthony Ferguson, what an absolute blinder of a fight. It was a blood bath and the boys went H.A.M (hard as a mother) on each other. When I got in the cage after I couldn't believe how much blood had been shed!
AddictedMMA: When you're doing your thing inside the cage do you enjoy all of the wolf whistles and cheers from the males in attendance?
To be honest your never in there for very long and when you walk round and all the lights are on you , you can't really see anyone or hear anyone, but yeah of course it's nice to know I'm doing a good job and that the crowd and alive and happy .
AddictedMMA: Let's talk MMA for a bit, on a scale of One - Ten how big of a MMA fan are you?
Of course I'm gonna give it a straight 10, like I said I haven't been doing it for long but my passion is there and my knowledge is growing and I'm learning more and more every fight I see. I've made friends with a few of the fighters and those involved in MMA so I'm becoming rapidly sucked into it, and if I'm not in the cage working I'm keen to be in the crowd watching.
AddictedMMA: Who is your favourite fighter and why?
It's hard to pick a favourite when there are so many talented and impressive fighters out there and I'm meeting new ones on a daily basis. Two of my favourite young promising fighters have to be Ben "Flubber" Rees and Craig "The Thunder Cat" White. Not only are these boys impressive and skilled they happen to be two of the most decent and fun guys I've ever had the pleasure of meeting and working with.
Ben has a fight 19th Aug which is not to be missed and Craig will be in action on 15th Sept. Keep your eyes out for them.
AddictedMMA: What's your favourite MMA fight that you've ever watched?
I got the bug for MMA at my first ever cage fight I went to a few years back In Exmouth, Devon a few years ago. I can't remember their names but there were two massive chaps in the cage, the ref started the fight and they touched gloves. One of them simply stepped back and then executed one single blow that saw the other KO'd within seconds! THE CROWD WENT WILD!!!!
Everyone surged forward and I actually thought I was going to be lifted into the air along with the roof. It was that moment I became an Addict.
AddictedMMA: So are you a lover or a fighter then? When was the last time (if ever) you were involved in a scrap?
I am a lover and secret softy, but I do have a feisty side that surprises people and I make no secret of it if someone gets on my wrong side, but I do love play fighting and I'm not shy of a bit of sparing. I do karate and spar with one of the brown belts who's almost a foot taller than me; we show each other no mercy when training.
AddictedMMA: Say one of the Addicts asked you out on a date and for some strange god forsaken reason you said "yes", what would the addict have to do to make it the perfect date and impress you enough to get a second date?
HAHAHAHAHA! Love the wording of that question. I'm a real down to earth kind of girl, whatever we do has to be fun, spontaneous, a surprise and have me laughing. I love to chat so if you want to get to know me don't take me to the cinema for the first few dates. I like the free things in life, as life is what you make of it.
AddictedMMA: Most fighters have nicknames. If you HAD to have an MMA nickname, what would it be and why?
What do you mean if I 'had to have' a name??? I HAVE ONE!!!! Anna "Menace" Middleton is my name - it all came about after a night out when I ended up crowd surfing and being thrown on stage, prior to those antics we were at a bar all drinking tequila and I drank mine then dropped kicked the shot glass across the room shouting 'ARRRRRRIIIIIIIIBBBBAAAAAAA' ! The name found me really.
Other names i'm known by - Rusky as I'm half Russian, A.Middy as I party like P.Diddy, Midders , McBizzleton and Anna Anna (so nice they named me twice).
AddictedMMA: So apart from being a Ring Girl and looking hot what do you do like to do in your spare time and get away from it all?
Well I think people might be surprised to know I'm actually a dental nurse and also have a diploma in sound engineering and music tech, but When I'm not working or plotting to taking over the world you can find me in the gym most evenings as that's where I like to go to unwind. I'm a massive food lover so cooking and eating out happen on the regular and I love seeing my friends whether we are having a quite one or a mad one. I normally feel there aren't enough hours in the day and spare time doesn't exist.
