Mike “The Hammer” Edwards returns to the cage this Weekend

This Saturday at Adrenalin Fight Night in Swansea - Mike "The Hammer" Edwards will make his long awaited return to mixed martial arts action after a three-year lay off. The Welshman, who racked up an impressive 10-2 record, last saw action when he defeated "Brutal" Jake Bostwick back in December 2009 on Ultimate Challenge. After that victory he was promised a title shot at Jimmy Manuwa for the light heavy weight title, but it never came. The London shoot fighter took time out of MMA to start a family and open up his own training facility closer to his home in Wales. Edwards has seen action all over Europe in countries such as Croatia and The Netherlands and was once heavily linked to a Pride contract until they were bought out by the UFC. In fact you can see Edwards gracing the corners of his teammates James Thompson and Zelg Galesic against Don Fry and Makoto Tokimoto respectably on the last ever Pride FC.

During his hiatus he has taken rising star Lewis "The Foot" Long under his wing and has transformed his game tenfold. Also he has a young stable of fighters all taking their fledgling steps on the amateur circuit. Now Edwards will step back into the cage once again and the man to welcome him back will be no easy task. Frenchman Eric Cebarec who boasts a record of 8-6 with his most notable win coming over UFC veteran Sean Salmon. Cebarec was last seen on Cage Warriors Fight Night 5 when he lost to Mike Ling by second round TKO in Amman Jordan.


The fight will main event Adrenalin Fight Night "In The Cage" at Oceana in Swansea and will also feature a mouth-watering welterweight encounter between Gareth "BJ" Penny and Shane Riley. The card will also include European kickboxing title fights and plenty of unified amateur rules MMA.
